Provided by AGPAccording to reports, protests were organized in Rome and several Italian cities as part of a nationwide general strike led by labor unions and civil society organizations under the slogan “We block everything.”
The demonstrations focused on multiple issues, including rising living expenses, opposition to increased military spending instead of investments in healthcare and education, criticism of war-related policies, and calls for the Italian government to avoid complicity with Israel while showing solidarity with the Global Sumud Flotilla.
In Rome, thousands of protesters assembled at Piazza dei Cinquecento carrying Palestinian flags and banners supporting the flotilla before marching toward Piazza San Giovanni.
Participants chanted pro-Palestinian slogans during the march and demanded the suspension of relations with Israel, according to reports.
